On the occasion of this agreement between the two companies, Flavio Manderioli, Mecc Alte’s director in Spain, recently visited Inmesol and kindly agreed to be interviewed for our blog.

What is Mercurio?

Mercurio is a battery charger that is especially designed for the Telecom sector. It is a product we have developed after paying attention to the needs of this market.

What is its contribution to the telecommunications sector?

Its great advantage is that it makes it possible to use the generator at two speeds, depending on the power required. In other words, the system is based on a dual focus power converter. This embeds all the logic required for controlling the genset when the DC battery set needs to be re-charged and also for speed control. Moreover, it accepts power inputs from any kind of power supply.

What is the advantage of Mercurio’s dual focus for generators?

This feature is related with optimisation of the generator’s performance with respect to its load system. In the telecommunications sector, installations usually operate with a variable speed control system.

How is Mercurio presented as a system?

This is a totally automatic system which does not need any intervention by external operators. The complete technology is presented in a single piece that incorporates the functions of several kinds of equipment working together as one.

To conclude, what would you say is Mercurio’s most outstanding feature?

Its simplicity and flexibility, which cut costs and reduce maintenance to a minimum, and also the “plug and go” module for all applications.
