The generator set market is complex, and is segmented according to end-use applications.

Generally speaking, however, the rental sector is being strongly driven in particular by aspects such as noise pollution, engine efficiency, and gas emissions, as well as the eventual increase in energy demand.

A significant portion of the market, mainly the rental machinery sector (which is currently growing), such as: companies that organise shows, events, and promotions, food and beverages companies, catering and hospitality services, etc., demands increasingly quieter equipment, equipment with low gas emissions regulated by strict and limiting regulations, equipment controlled at all times, and equipment with maximum reliability in terms of service provisioning.

QUIETER GENERATOR SETS

The reduction of noise emissions has been one of the main objectives set by INMESOL for developing new products launched in 2017.

The R&D Department has worked hard, making elaborate studies and numerous tests on different prototypes. A design with optimum airflow and that includes a good sound trap system (sound absorbing elements) has finally been obtained, where the approximate decrease in the perception of the genset’s sound emission is between 15 and 20%.

All INMESOL rental range generator set models include the new design already and, therefore, in addition to being robust gensets that offer all the features required by the sector, they are now quieter.

ENGINES EFFICIENCY AND LOW GAS EMISSIONS

The regulations on gas emissions that affect internal combustion engines are increasingly demanding and have more restrictive limitations. Engine manufacturers keep on trying to adapt the design of their engines to comply with the regulations and, as a consequence, they are developing efficient engines with advanced control systems and with gas emissions below the limitations established.

INMESOL always works with prestigious manufacturing brands, capable of supplying engines that meet the latest requirements established by the corresponding regulations, in particular, those on the gas emissions, which is currently STAGE IIIA in Europe.

REMOTE MONITORING

Another increasingly demanded feature in the rental sector is the remote monitoring of the genset status. The GPS devices installed on the generator set make it possible to remotely control, monitor, and locate the equipment in real time. Thus, the generator set status, alarms, consumption, and fuel level can be checked from any device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone), at any time, from anywhere. This helps minimise maintenance costs and visits to the place of use.

Another important advantage is the real time motion alert warning, which makes it possible to prevent and act quickly in the event of machinery theft.
