The Bureau of International Exhibitions has chosen the city of Dubai as the host for the 2020 Universal Exhibition.<\/h2>\n

Under the slogan \u201cConnecting minds, creating the future,\u201d it is expected to receive 25 million visitors.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Last week the Bureau of International Exhibitions<\/strong><\/a> (BIE) announced its decision that Dubai will host the 2020 Universal Exhibition<\/strong>. It will be the first time that the World Expo has been held in the Middle East.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Chance to Strengthen Its Global Position<\/h3>\n

Expo 2020 will coincide with the 50th<\/sup> anniversary of the United Arab Emirates<\/strong>. In this brief period, Dubai has become one of the most modern and innovative cities<\/strong> in the world, with people from over 200 nationalities working there.<\/p>\n

Under the slogan \u201cConnecting minds, creating the future\u201d the city will take advantage of this opportunity to continue inventing itself and to strengthen the position of the seven emirates in the world by implementing a series of projects which will also act as sub-themes to the Universal Exhibition.<\/p>\n

Three Thematic Axes: Mobility, Sustainability and Opportunity<\/h3>\n

Expo Dubai will revolve around three main themes which represent a global-scale challenge<\/strong> and which are interrelated<\/strong>: mobility, sustainability and opportunity.<\/p>\n

The event will broach the issues of logistics<\/span>, intelligent engineering<\/span> and energy consumption<\/span>. It will try to provide answers to the question of resource conservation<\/span> and access to resources<\/span>. The occasion will also be used to propose new economic models<\/span> which integrate cultural exchange<\/strong>, constant technological advances<\/strong> and adaptation to a world in constant flux<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Expo Live Programme<\/h3>\n

The purpose of this funded programme is to finance and encourage innovative projects in Dubai<\/strong>, particularly in relation to solar energy<\/strong> and drinking water<\/strong>. Expo Live will begin in the preparation phase of the Universal Exhibition and aims to connect tomorrow\u2019s talent with experts and potential partners.<\/p>\n

Facts and Figures<\/h3>\n

Date:\u00a0From 20th<\/sup> October 2020 to 10th<\/sup> April 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Expected visitors: <\/strong>25\u00a0million.<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong>: 438 hectares in the extreme southwest of Dubai, at an equidistant point between the city and Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n
