14 November<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Madrid<\/span><\/p>\n World Quality<\/span> Day<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Organised by:<\/span><\/p>\n Last Tuesday, on the occasion of the 19th European Week of Quality, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Innovation of the Murcia Regional Assembly organised a conference to commemorate World Quality Day, an international event held on 14 November every year.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Minister for Industry, Commerce and Innovation, <\/strong>Jos\u00e9 Ballesta Germ\u00e1n, opened the conference by highlighting the need <\/strong>for companies to commit to excellence and innovation<\/strong> as the best way to improve the competitiveness<\/strong> of industrial and service companies in the Murcia Region. With this aim, the Ministry has signed a cooperation agreement with the Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Normalizaci\u00f3n y Certificaci\u00f3n (AENOR).<\/p>\n Also discussed during the conference was the strategy<\/strong> adopted by Spain with regard to the social responsibility of the business sector<\/strong>, while the question of how to systematise innovation processes<\/strong> was also debated.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The conference ended with a panel discussion<\/strong> in which the speakers included inter alia<\/i> the directors of the two leading <\/strong>quality and environment certification companies<\/strong>: \u00c1ngel Luis S\u00e1nchez Cer\u00f3n, director of AENOR<\/strong> for the Murcia Region, and Roberto Becerra del Cosso, regional director of Bureau Veritas<\/strong>. Both of these experts informed the participants of the latest advances in the certification of Murcia-based companies<\/strong> and drew attention to growth in this area over the last few months. These include the agreement signed with the Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Normalizaci\u00f3n y Certificaci\u00f3n (AENOR \u2013 Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification) with a view to working together to contribute towards improving the competitiveness of companies in the Murcia Region.<\/h2>\n
