From 21st<\/sup> to 25th<\/sup> April, the 13th<\/sup> edition of Expomin<\/strong> was held in Santiago, Chile. It is the largest mining fair in Latin America and one of the most important in the world<\/strong>. Inmesol was present at the show, exhibiting our generator sets<\/strong> through our distributor in Chile, Emaresa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Expomin is the showcase<\/strong> for companies that supply products and technological services<\/strong> for the mining industry: safety equipment, telecommunications, electricity generators<\/strong>, etc. It is also a forum to discuss the most important issues affecting the future development of mining. (Chile is a leader within the sector for neighbouring countries due to the fundamental importance of mining in its economy.)<\/p>\n

Chile Welcomes the International Technology on Offer<\/h3>\n

This year\u2019s event had nearly twice the surface area than in 2012 (125,000 m2<\/sup>), with 1,640 exhibitors from 36 countries<\/strong>, and 80,000 visitors.<\/p>\n

The organisers of the fair have expressed their satisfaction with the strong international presence this year, explaining that \u201cThe participation of foreign companies is fundamental: the national mining industry cannot limit itself to Chilean suppliers because the Chilean technology on offer is still very limited<\/strong>. Around 70% of the products on offer at the fair comes from other countries and each exhibitor is increasing their showcase at each edition.\u201d<\/p>\n
