On 13th and 14th March 2015, the first edition of ExpoColun was held in La Unión (Chile). The new fair aims to become Chile’s main meeting point for agricultural or livestock farmers and the largest suppliers for the sector, principally the companies which develop new technologies and set the trends for the farming market.
Inmesol’s technology was present at the first exhibition, represented by one of our distributors in the country, the company Emaresa Construcción; one of the four Business Units of the Emaresa Group, founded in 1972. ExpoColun is organised by the La Unión Agriculture and Dairy Cooperative Limited, Colun; a cooperative established in 1949 by 60 members with the objective of actively contributing to the region’s development through the creation of high quality products aimed at both the national and international markets. Colun now has more than 700 members.
The local authorities supported the Colun initiative, presiding over the inaugural event for this platform with a commercial and technology transfer vocation. La Unión’s mayoress, Maria Astudillo, stated that: “Events of this kind sustain the agricultural business and encourage famers to become agricultural entrepreneurs.” She also took advantage of the occasion to announce the future creation of a publicly funded Regional Centre for Research, which will work in collaboration with the sector.
