A mobile scientific laboratory that will travel through Guatemalan schools
The Universidad del Valle, located in the city of Guatemala, is a pioneer in providing a solid educational offer within the technical and technological frame of the country, Guatemala.
They have designed a project to motivate the students who are about to start their high studies that will bring them closer to the scientific, technological, engineering and mathematical world.
It’s a truck called «Steam Truck», which travels to schools across the country and transforms into a fully working laboratory, where different practices, such as the biodiesel generation, recycling methods, and water purification, are demonstrated and actively taught.
The electric energy is provided by an INMESOL Power Generation System.
Inside, the Steam Truck mobile unit features screens for projecting videos, computers, and real equipment for practices that the students can touch and operate.
A compact and silent Power Electric System model IK-015 on a mobile kit moves along the «Steam Truck» and ensures the electric supply necessary for all the devices included in the laboratory / mobile unit for the practices that might be carried out.
Teaching methods
A team of engineers, with the appropriate educational methods, teach theoretical subjects learned in an ordinary classroom in a practical, pleasant, and close way, giving students the opportunity to immediately solve any question they have.
The Steam Truck will use the biodiesel generated in the mobile unit as fuel.
Thanks to this creative teaching method, the students will easily understand how useful the products generated in this small but practical laboratory may be, hoping to increase their motivation to become the new scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians of the country.
