From 21st to 25th April, the 13th edition of Expomin was held in Santiago, Chile. It is the largest mining fair in Latin America and one of the most important in the world. Inmesol was present at the show, exhibiting our generator sets through our distributor in Chile, Emaresa.
Expomin is the showcase for companies that supply products and technological services for the mining industry: safety equipment, telecommunications, electricity generators, etc. It is also a forum to discuss the most important issues affecting the future development of mining. (Chile is a leader within the sector for neighbouring countries due to the fundamental importance of mining in its economy.)
Chile Welcomes the International Technology on Offer
This year’s event had nearly twice the surface area than in 2012 (125,000 m2), with 1,640 exhibitors from 36 countries, and 80,000 visitors.
The organisers of the fair have expressed their satisfaction with the strong international presence this year, explaining that “The participation of foreign companies is fundamental: the national mining industry cannot limit itself to Chilean suppliers because the Chilean technology on offer is still very limited. Around 70% of the products on offer at the fair comes from other countries and each exhibitor is increasing their showcase at each edition.”
